A discussion of recent search trends
Looking at the latest Google search trends, it is noteworthy that “Lawson, too much serving” is ranked in the list. This suggests strong consumer interest in products offered at convenience stores that go far beyond the normal size and quantity, such as “large portions” and “increased portions. It is thought that this is due to consumers’ desire not only for lower prices, but also for visual impact, a sense of value, and a little bit of the unusual. This “too much food” boom is affecting not only eating out but also eating at home, and there may be a latent need for “a little extravagance” and “more than usual” in homemade dishes as well. The fact that “gluttonous twins” are ranked in the top 10 is also probably not unrelated to the trend of pursuing volume and enjoyment in food. This trend suggests that in the case of homemade sweets, there is a demand for a gorgeous appearance, fun to share, and a high sense of satisfaction.
The fact that “Pocky” ranked at the top of the list also indicates that interest in seasonal events and classic snacks remains high. This means that there is always a certain demand for sweets that are not just trendy, but also those that evoke a sense of security and nostalgia. In homemade recipes as well, incorporating a sense of seasonality and modernizing old-fashioned sweets may appeal to a wide range of people. Furthermore, the fact that keywords related to food are ranked high amidst searches for specific celebrities and entertainment-related topics indicates the importance of “food” in daily life and the high level of interest in the enjoyment it creates.

Melted caramel apple and nut “overload” tart

way of making
- Making the tart dough… (Now, the adventure begins!)
Cut the chilled butter into 1 cm cubes, place in a bowl sifted with flour and powdered sugar, and use your fingertips to mash the butter into the flour mixture, creating a silky, sand-like consistency. The key is to work quickly so that the butter does not melt. - Add egg yolks and cold water and mix until powdery. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. During this time, the dough will settle and become delicious.
- Roll out the rested dough on a floured board to a size larger than the tart, and place in a tart tin (18 cm in diameter). Poke holes all over with a fork (picket), line with a cookie sheet, place a weight on top and bake in a preheated oven at 180℃ for 15 minutes. Remove the weight and sheet, bake for another 10 minutes until light golden brown and remove from heat. This savory aroma will whet your appetite.
- [Making caramel apple filling] (Sweetened and boiled down to a happy time)
Peel apples, remove core and cut into 2 cm cubes. Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent discoloration and enhance flavor. - Place granulated sugar in a frying pan over medium heat. When it bubbles and turns golden brown without touching, remove from heat, add butter and melt in residual heat. This is the moment when the good smell of caramel spreads throughout the room!
- Add cream a little at a time, mixing well each time. Be careful, as it splashes easily! Return to heat again, add apples and cinnamon powder, and cook until apples are soft. The water from the apples and the caramel will combine to form a thick, glossy filling. Taste and see if you can find the right balance of sweetness and tartness.
- Making caramelized nuts (with a crunchy texture accent!)
Place granulated sugar and water in a frying pan over medium heat. Without touching, turn off the heat when the granulated sugar has melted and turned golden brown, add the mixed nuts and toss quickly. Be careful not to burn yourself; quick is the name of the game! - Spread on a cookie sheet to cool. They will be crispy when completely cooled.
- [Finish] (The emotional climax!)
Spread the cooled caramel apple filling generously over the baked tart dough so that it is “too heaping”. The apple gumbo is a must. - Caramelized nuts are boldly scattered. The crunchy texture creates a perfect harmony with the melting apples and caramel.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top with a tea strainer and garnish with mint, if desired, to complete the dish! The moment you bring it to the table, there will be cheers.
Here is the secret to the delicious taste! Recipe Tips
The main attraction of this tart is the contrast between the melted caramel apples and the crunchy nuts. It is important to chill the tart dough thoroughly to make it crispy, and to cook the caramelized apples in a way that does not burn them too much, but still makes them aromatic. Working quickly to caramelize the nuts gives them a beautiful sheen and texture. The secret is to “overload” the apples so that they spill over when cut into pieces, which enhances the visual impact and satisfaction!
