Hello everyone, and welcome to Today’s Homemade Recipe! Welcome to “Today’s Homemade Recipe of the Day,” where I will be sharing with you some of the best homemade recipes of the day on Friday, November 21, 2025. The first day of winter has passed, and the cooler mornings and evenings are finally getting into full swing. Many areas where the autumn leaves were late this year may finally be at their best. Street trees are also turning bright reds and yellows, reminding us of the deepening of the short autumn season. Incidentally, today is “Fried Chicken Day,” which is said to derive from the fact that Kentucky Fried Chicken sold fried chicken for the first time in Japan on this day in 1974. Hearing that makes me want to eat fried chicken in an irresistible way… (laughs). Today, in the midst of this autumn season of appetite, we would like to introduce you to a very special sweet recipe that combines seasonal ingredients and trends.

A discussion of recent search trends
Looking at today’s Google search trends, IT-related keywords such as “x glitch,” “cloudflare,” and “twitter failure” stand out at the top. This suggests how important the stable operation of digital services is in today’s society. When service failures occur, many people experience difficulties in gathering information and communicating, which can lead to stress and frustration. It is precisely at times like these that there is a need for warm, homemade sweets that calm the mind and allow people to take a breather. As a digital detox, time spent carefully creating something using all five senses has a positive effect on mental health. In addition, searches for people’s names such as “Yoshida Kaban President” and “Tsuneji Mizukami” also ranked high, indicating that people’s interest is also focused on celebrities and their stories. Against this backdrop, it can be said that handmade sweets are now more likely to resonate with people if they not only taste good, but also tell a story and convey the warm feelings behind them.

material
| Material name | amount |
|---|---|
| Rice flour (for confectionery) | 100g |
| baking powder | 1 teaspoon |
| unsalted butter | 50g |
| light brown sugar | 30g |
| egg | one (object) |
| (cow’s) milk | 80ml |
| maple syrup | 2 tablespoons |
| salt (i.e. sodium chloride) | pinch (of something) |
| Coarse salt for finishing (Guerande salt is recommended) | proper quantity |
| Melted butter (for coating the molds) | small quantity |
way of making
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Brush the muffin tins with melted butter and dust them with a thin layer of rice flour (not included) or set the muffin cups.
- Place unsalted butter in a bowl and mix well with a whisk until creamy. This is where the foundation for deliciousness begins!
- Add the millet sugar and grind until white and fluffy. Carefully until the mixture is as light as a cloud.
- Add beaten eggs in 3 batches, mixing well each time. The key is to mix it lovingly so that it does not separate.
- In a separate bowl, combine rice flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and mix well with a whisk. Aerate the mixture until it is no longer powdery.
- Add the milk and maple syrup alternately to the bowl of butter, along with the flour mixture. Add the flour, milk, flour, milk, and so on in several batches, mixing quickly with a rubber spatula each time. If you mix too much, the mixture will become hard, so stop when there is a slight powdery residue.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin. The standard is to fill the mold to about the eighth part.
- Finally, sprinkle a little coarse salt on top of the dough. This one small step is the magic that adds depth to the flavor.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180℃ for 20-25 minutes. If the dough does not stick to a bamboo skewer, it is done. The sweet and savory aroma wafting from the oven is a signal of happiness!
- Once baked, remove from the mold and allow to come out of the heat. Enjoy the blissful moment of deliciousness either warm or cold.
Here’s the secret to making it taste good! Point.
Using rice flour for confectionery makes it finer and more moist. The addition of maple syrup accentuates the flavorful, gentle sweetness. Above all, the coarse salt sprinkled on top of the cake after baking enhances the sweetness and tightens the overall flavor. This saltiness is the secret to winning the hearts of those who eat it! Another hidden key to making it delicious is not to over-mix it and to absorb plenty of freshly baked aroma.
